EXT. WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK - IN THE DUNES - SUNSET
Hunter, Jackie, Chloe and Tom, each barefoot, gaze at the sun setting on the San Andres Mountains, shoes/boots arranged behind them where their foot tracks mark their descent from the top of a dune.
TOM: Am I correct in thinkin' that we're standin' where a sea used to be awhile back.
CHLOE: You are correct, sir. The Permian Sea. Two-hundred and eighty-million years ago.
TOM: That prob'ly puts it before dinosaurs.
CHLOE: By about thirty millions years.
TOM: Give or take.
CHLOE: Give or take.
Pause as the sun meets the tallest peak.
TOM You ever been to a black sand beach?
CHLOE: Yes. Playa Negra in Costa Rica.
TOM: Were ya surfin'?
CHLOE: Yes.
HUNTER: How 'bout you?
JACKIE: Yes.
HUNTER: Where?
JACKIE: Iceland.
HUNTER: Vacation.
JACKIE: Honeymoon.
HUNTER: Oh.
Tom and Chloe exchange slight smiles.
CHLOE: One more selfie?
They gather together, backs to the sunset. Chloe uses selfie stick to take the picture. They gather their boots, retrace their steps up the dune, over the top out of view.
