She is fit and trim, her resemblance to John hard to miss, like her wedding ring's diamond.
Laptop shares table with bowl of peaches and bananas, scrabble box, copy of Foglost near chair across from her, and phone at hand. China hutch, framed painting of red barn on horizon of vast sea of golden wheat. Elegant cabinetry, stone countertops and state of the art appliances in adjacent kitchen.
MAN'S VOICE (O.S.) Rachel?
RACHEL: Eldredge?
FOOTFALL ON STAIRS before ELDREDGE, 70ish - loafers that match belt holding up new jeans, polo shirt - enters. Rachel's attention remains fixed on the laptop screen.
ELDREDGE: Ride here in ten.
RACHEL: Okay. Come look at this.
He approaches, looks over her shoulder at a photograph of Hunter, Chloe and Tom (TBD).
ELDREDGE: I've been there.
RACHEL: Where's there?
ELDREDGE: (He tells her, and re the circumstances.) Who's the cowboy?
RACHEL: Chloe's new grandfather. Hunter's dad.
She closes laptop, looks at him.
RACHEL (CONT.): More on the way to the airport.
ELDREDGE: Okay.
She stands, pockets phone, grabs laptop, Eldredge grabs Foglost, they enter kitchen.
RACHEL: But first, I'd like to hear more about (re the circumstances re "where there" is)..
They exit kitchen, out of view.
ELDREDGE (O.S.): Well, it was a dark and stormy night.

Rachel chuckles.
ELDREDGE (O.S.): No, really.
Rachel laughs.
